Virtual Rally Championship - FIESTA Rally3

Monte Carlo

The first Championship rally in an AWD car was a tough one. Restricted to tarmac tires on the icy stages of Monte Carlo, the Rainforest Cafe prepped Fiesta Rally3 struggled for grip on 17 brutal stages. A few close calls, including a scramble back up a cliff on SS6. Placed 50th in class out of ~170 finishers.

Arctic Lapland Rally

Arctic Lapland Rally was a great learning experience that developed my understanding of weight transfer. Unfortunately, damage sustained on SS3 hindered my pace until proper service after SS6. Placed 46th in class out of ~180 finishers.

Safari Kenya

"Radiators are NOT FREE" Was the subject line of an email I got today from johnbusiness@enrontheworldsleadingcompany.net.

A tough rally, but everyone knows that! Kenya was my first real crash of the VRC season. The third stage of the second leg spelled disaster when an under-recce'd rock spoiled my flat-out fun. I don't think I've ever flipped a car that many times in a competion! I was able to continue with some spectator assistence, but water pump damage finally brought my run to an end. It's hard to be too frustrated by a crash in Kenya, especially because my stage results were quite good. Chalk this one up to a lack of planning, and on to the next round.

Finished under Super Rally and placed 39th in class.

Rally Swidnica

Dirty tarmac and changing weather conditions. Rally Swidnica is more in my sweetspot. I focused on clean driving and nailing my racing lines, while not taking unnecessary risks. The results speak for themselves, as this is my highest finish yet at 35th in class. Still a lot of improvement left to do with the fastest car being a full 20s faster on every stage, but I try not to compare myself to alien level talent. Happy with this result and hope to carry the momentum forward.
